What is CGC Signature Series?
1. CGC Charges Based on a Comic’s Age and Value
CGC Signature Series is CGC’s official witnessed authentication program for signed collectibles.
For a comic to receive the yellow Signature Series label:
- The signing must be witnessed by an authorized CGC Signature Series witness.
- The comic must remain in witness custody from the moment it is signed until it is submitted to CGC.
- Comics signed without an authorized witness present cannot receive a Signature Series label.
Signature Series books are among the most desirable collectibles in the hobby due to the verified authenticity of the signature.
How Signature Series Pricing Works
Signature Series submissions include several separate costs:

Creator Signature Fee
Each guest or creator charges their own autograph fee. Prices vary significantly depending on the guest and if you are submitting as an absentee, these fees need to be paid prior to any event

Witnessing / Facilitation Fee
Grail Hunters Australia charges a facilitation and witness handling fee for coordinating the signing and maintaining CGC chain-of-custody requirements.

CGC Grading Fee
Once signed, the comic is submitted to CGC under the appropriate grading tier based on age and declared value.

International Shipping & Insurance
Shipping costs are shared across group submissions wherever possible to reduce costs for collectors.

Pressing
Comics will be pressed prior to grading if requested.
Multiple Signatures & Tier Splits
A few important things collectors should know:
- If books fall into different grading tiers or value categories, CGC separates them into multiple orders.
- Separate orders generate separate CGC processing and shipping charges.
This is especially important for high-value signed comics.
Group Signature Series Submissions

Signature Series turnaround times vary depending on:

- Standard Signature Series submissions commonly average around 4.5 months from signing to return.
- Pressing (By CGC) is always included in the service.

Exchange Rate Used: 0.6989 USD = 1 AUD – if this varies by more than 3%, pricing will be adjusted to accommodate.
Conversion Method: USD converted to AUD + 5% bank, service and currency buffer

Creator Signature Fees
Guest signature pricing is determined entirely by the individual guest or event organiser and may change without notice.

Important Signature Series Notes
- Signature fees are set by the guest and are separate from CGC grading fees.
- All signatures must be witnessed by an authorized CGC Signature Series witness.
